THE CARIBBEAN

The archipelago of the Antilles resembles the shape of an arch 4700 km long, stretching from the southern point of Cuba all the way down to the small Dutch island of Aruba off the coast of Venezuela.

The Lesser Antilles form the eastern section of the arch and are about 1000 km, starting from the Virgin Islands and reaching down to Granada.

Martinique is situated in the centre of the arch, between Dominica in the north and St. Lucia in the south.

MARTINIQUE

The Indians call Martinique “Madinina, the island of flowers” because of its lush tropical vegetation. Situated in the very heart of the Caribbean archipelago, it is part of the Lesser Antilles, which are also known as “the islands in the wind”.

Martinique is about 7000 km distant from France and about 440 km from the American continent. It is the most southern island of the French Antilles and has been in French ownership since 1946. Its nearest neighbours are the English- speaking islands of Dominica in the north and St. Lucia in the south.

Martinique has a surface area of 1100 square kilometers, is 70 km long and approximately 30 km wide. This island will enchant you with the variety of its cultural and topographical richness.

Another of the exclusive destinations on offer is a cruise to the archipelago of the Grenadines.
